How finger roulette works
- Lay the phone or tablet flat where everyone can reach it.
- Everyone puts one finger on the screen and keeps it there.
- Two seconds after the last finger lands, a short countdown starts, then the light jumps between fingers at random and stops on one person.
- On a computer, click to drop a spot for each person instead. It starts the same way, 2 seconds after the last spot.
Is it fair?
Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys. The animation is just for fun: the outcome is drawn first and the physics is solved to land on it, so no option is favored.
The pick is made the moment the countdown ends, so where you put your finger and how fast you were makes no difference.
