How to roll dice online
- Pick a mode: Total, Highest wins or Pick for me.
- Choose how many dice (or players), then press Roll, tap the tray, or press the space bar.
- The dice tumble and settle, and the result appears: the total, the winner, or the option the die picked.
- In Total mode, tap a die after it lands to hold it, then roll again to re-roll only the others.
Three ways to roll
- Total: roll 1 to 6 dice and add them up, for board games and maths.
- Highest wins: one die per person, named; the highest roll wins, and a tie means roll again. Great for deciding who goes first.
- Pick for me: give each option some faces of one die (2 to 6 options) and let the roll decide.
Are these dice fair?
Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys. The animation is just for fun: the outcome is drawn first and the physics is solved to land on it, so no option is favored.
Every face of every die has exactly a 1 in 6 chance, and each die is drawn on its own. In Pick for me, every option has exactly the same chance: with 2, 3 or 6 options the faces split evenly, and with 4 or 5 the die only lands on faces 1 to 4 or 1 to 5.
