How to get a yes or no answer

  • Type your question (optional) so you remember what you asked.
  • Press and hold the orb. It charges as you hold.
  • Let go to reveal Yes or No. Turn on “Maybe” for a third option.

Is the yes or no generator random?

Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys. The animation is just for fun: the outcome is drawn first and the physics is solved to land on it, so no option is favored.

Yes or no vs a real answer

A random yes or no is great for small, low-stakes calls. If the question matters (a job, a relationship, a big purchase) ask Choice instead. It looks at your situation and tells you which way to go, and why.

Want a reason, not a coin toss?

Tell Choice what you're deciding and it weighs the options for you.

Yes or No: questions

Is this yes or no tool free?

Yes. It's free, needs no account, and works offline once the page has loaded.

Can I add a Maybe option?

Yes. Turn on “Allow Maybe” and the orb can answer Yes, No or Maybe with equal chances.

Is it the same as a yes or no wheel?

Same odds, different feel. If you prefer spinning, try the Yes or No Wheel.

How random is it?

Every result comes from your browser's cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues), the same source used for security keys. The animation is just for fun: the outcome is drawn first and the physics is solved to land on it, so no option is favored.
